Adani gets a key nod for 5g services in Gujarat

 Adani get a letter of intent for the department of telecommunications for the grant of unified license for Gujarat circle. The unified license helps for long distance calls and internet facilities in Gujarat circle. The Adani group is the latent entrant in the Telecom sector and has applied for the 5G spectrum auction. The Department of Telecommunication released the details of the companies who has participated in the auction. The pre-qualification of the bidder will take place on July 18 and the final list of the bidders will be held for airwaves in multiple bands including 3.5 GHz band and millimeter wave band that is used for 5G service. 

The Adani group has made the application through a new incorporated Adani Data network limited. It has a net worth of 248.35 crore rupees. Adani's entry will be create uncertainty over spectrum pricing in the 5G auction, which was expected to see bidding competition primarily between Airtel and Jio. The group provides stand alone 5G enterprise network solutions was a tad unclear given that globally, 5G enterprises use cases are still under pilot stages, it added. Credit Suisse also questioned the rationale behind bidding for 5G spectrum in auctions when the center has already allowed private enterprises to setup a captive non public network by acquiring spectrum from the government for a nominal cost without any license fee.
