A little streaming video had became bigger than Netflix and Amazon prime. In 2020, even after seven years in business, SonyLIV had only 0.7 million subscribers.
In October 2020, after the release of Hansal Mehta's Scam 1992, SonyLIV had an estimation of a record increase in subscribers of 22 million.
Last week SonyLIV clocked 18.2 million subscribers which is the second largest subscription driven video on demand after Disney+Hotstar and about three times size of Netflix.
