Microsoft cuts 1800 jobs in restructuring will hire more

 After the close of Microsoft's fiscal year the roles and business groups were realigned which led to cutting down of some jobs. It said that it is planning to keep other roles and finish the current fiscal year with increased headcount. In recent years Microsoft has typically announced job cuts shortly after the July 4 holiday in the US as it makes changes for the new fiscal period. The company said that the layoffs were not spurred by the worsening economic picture but in May it also slowed hiring in the windows and the operating groups.
