Volkswagen 'Virtus' grabs a special place in the heart of Indians

 The Volkswagen Virtus is a mid-size sedan launched in India. Virtus will be competing other mid-size models like Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Scoda Slavia. Scoda being the sister company of Volkswagen, Slavia shares the same engine, suspension and more. 

The 1 litre trims are priced around 11.21 to 15.71 lakhs while 1.5 litre at 17.91 lakhs. The 1 litre delivers a power of 115ps and 1.5 delivers 150ps. The 1litre comes with a 6 speed gearbox and an automatic gearbox, with 19.4 and 18.12 kmpl respectively. The 1.5 comes with a DSG gearbox with 18.12kmpl.

The Volkswagen India's Brand Director said that it aims in achieving 15-20 per cent in the country's mid size segment. Inspite knowing the fact that customers nowadays shows interest towards SUV (Sub Utility Vehicle) vehicles and that SUV vehicles lowers the demand of sedans and hatchbacks, the company is bringing in products to achieve that positioning in the minds of people. Last year it sold upto 26,000 units and this year Volkswagen expects to sell around 55,000 to 60,000 units  

Virtus is the longest car in the mid-size segment, with the length of 4561mm and a boot space of 521 which seperates it from the competitors.
