Reopening Future stores a work in progress for Reliance

 Future group which is taken over by Reliance is still in the process on reopening. Reliance took over 947 stores of Future and is planning to open the stores within 45 days. Reliance is in the process of deciding whether to eliminate the stores of the same format and that are close by the other stores. At present Reliance is paying lease for all the stores it took over from Future and there is a possibility of reducing the size of the stores. Reliance is not in want to have stores which are large in size. 

To set up the stores in takes time. The old stocks of Future has put in a warehouse. Future Group had 1500 stores across all brands. It received a termination notice for 78 brands and 34 central stores. In December 2020 the landlords gave the Future group the termination of the lease agreements. But the Future group was unable to pay the leases so Reliance group took over these stores.
