Union Govt decided to restructure Export Promotion Council which will focus on achieving high export growth for next 5 years. PwC to assist government in restructuring Export Promotion Council. Currently there are 25 (EPCs), with 14 under department of Commerce rest under the textiles ministry. Export Promotion Council helped boost Overseas trade, promote government schemes for exporters, support exporters in increasing their exports, organise trade fairs, buyer seller meets. The officials said that " the idea is to look into what needs to be done to boost export growth, identify where some of these councils maybe lagging and how it can be fixed.
