- Air India's proposed acquisition of of Tata group's entire 83.67 per centstake in Air Asia India.
- This will boost plans for the merging of the two airlines.
- At present Tata group owns and operates 4 airlines -- Air India, Air India Express, AirAsia India and Vistara.
- The combined market share of Air India and AirAsia in India is 13 per cent.
- Thr Tata group is also expected to buy the remaining 16.33 per cent from its Malaysian partner AirAsia Berhad after ministry's approval
